Hey folks, brought back to life an old cruiser, heavy one 3.5lb and about 9.25" edge to edge. Got this as a no name and ended up being a Mann Edge Tool Co head, thanks to some identification help from cooperhill.

Well here's just some pics through the process, hope you enjoy

what's that disgusting yellow lump in the first two pictures?

Axe looks sweet.
I love my old Mann.

There is no such thing as a "Full size cruiser"

Sorry... Somebody had to say it !

Yeah when I saw it was 3.5lbs I was wondering if it was really a cruiser and started to think what length and weight is line at for what's a cruiser and full size. I figure 3.5lb anything would be fullsize.

Terminology is just terminology. Time's probably better spent working with axes, tweaking geometry, hang angles, etc. I have no idea what I would call a semi Maine pattern, later manufactured Snow & Nealley, weighing 2 3/4 pounds on a 28 1/2" handle, without saying all that. its an axe, and it cuts wood. There is plenty enough complexity in making them work.
