Mannix o Ritter Grip?

One of them will be my next purchase. I´m looking for a folder with premium steel, blade over 3,5 inches, solid lock, full or saber flat grind and a reliable brand. I don´t have an axis lock yet, but on the other hand I like Spyderco lockbacks. I won´t be hacking or prying with it, but I´d like to have a folder I could trust in at least as much as I trust in my VG10 Endura or in my old AFCK. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

you seriously can't go wrong either way. if you're considering edc-ing the knife, look into the ritter grip cuz the manix is a big blade that's quite heavy. it's sturdy as hell that's why it's heavy, but you may not appreciate the heft all the time. try to go to a store to handle each one (i think a regular 551 grip won't be too far off in terms of ergonomics).

or you can follow the bladeforums motto: get both!

I don't have a Ritter Grip but I do have a regular 551 Griptilian, which has the exact same handle, as well as a Manix. For me, the superior ergos on the Manix blow away the Grip. Eric Glesser really hit a home run on the Manix design. I also prefer a good G-10 handle to plastic. The Axis lock is very strong, but so is the MBC-rated lock on the Manix.

I agree that it's best to go handle a 551 Grip (you won't find the Ritter in stores) and a Manix if at all possible.

The Manix is a solid knife, but it's big. I should have tried it in my pocket when I handled it, doh. My impression was that it wouldn't carry as nicely as a Ritter, but maybe someone who has both can tell us how they carry in the pocket.

For me the Manix looked huge compared to something like a Ritter Grip. I would feel a bit akward pulling something like that out if I was infront of sheeple. If I was going hiking, camping, etc I'd love to take something like the Manix. For EDC I'd probably go with the Ritter. I'd like to get my hands on both of them this Christmas. :)

I have a manix and a griptilian. The manix is an all around great knife, but it's too big for me to carry daily. For hiking or hunting is a different matter, or if I know I won't be around anyone who would freak if I pulled it out. I like them both, get one of each and see what you think!

Thanks to all of you. I think I´ll go for the Ritter Grip, as when I´m going to need something bigger or stronger -I work in forest firefighting-, I always take my SRK or BK7.
