I actually like several of the knives in the line. Some are goofy or weird. But I have used one of his karambits for about 2 years as a box cutter and utility knife, and it has held up well enough. I also used one of the "Seymour" knives to dress a big texas hog last summer. It worked well enough. And that was after I beat the hell out of it for a review on here. For entry level knives, most of his lower cost ones are a decent value. I haven't tried any of the higher level ones, so I don't know about them.
Yes, the owner really flubbed it with his free knife for spam idea. But it is a small company, and he was like 27 or something at the time. He gets a bit... enthusiastic at times. But he has given me great customer service over the past few years. I have had knives show up at my office within 12 hours of me ordering them online. Who else can say that? And he will take all kinds of input on new ideas that customers want to see.
Now, as for the folding prybar, I have not tried that one yet. But I do have one of the fixed blade pry bars, and it is built like a tank. If the folding one is built along the smae lines, it should be a good beater knife that will take anything that you throw at it. If it breaks, send it back to him with a letter saying how it broke. The odds are good that if it was a normal knife kind of task that broke it, not using it as a lynch pin on an 18 wheeler or something, he'll replace it. They have lifetime guarantees, and he has stood behind all of his stuff so far for me.
