Mantis MT7.2??

no offence to you or your tastes... but i would rather have a sister in a whorehouse than a mantis in my pocket. but that being said, i looked it up and its better than most, however you can probably do better for the money.

The company has been caught lying about the alloys they use in their knives. You can do better, Rolf.

THAT bad...depends . Some whorehouses can be pretty classy & not everyone is fond of their sisters.

Found this thread on it when I did a quick search: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/974699-mantis-mt-7-2-or-sanrenmu-t-08
Their militia has a few Youtube videos out on it, too. I have to compliment the company for being creative enough to rip off a design from Chinese makers known for ripping off American designs. Another first from this trailblazing company.

OK... I got one because I was curious and I have to say, this MT7.2 is an extremely well made folder. All politics aside, this is a very good design. The Besh Wegde Blade is BONKERS.

Glad you like it. The similar looking Extrema Ratio model made it through some insane destruction test. It's somewhere on here.Crazy looking folder for the collection. Let us know how the steel holds up.

Thanks Jeff. I'll do a review in about a month.
Yes, the design is unorthodox but it works so well. Do you have one?

There was a Buck like that some years ago, Bravo Besh Wedge. I got one in 2006...
This Mantis looks like a cross between the Buck and Extrema Ratio folders... Very innovative design mister JW!

Do you^ still have the Buck Bravo? I tried to get one first but to no avail.

No. My blades are all boring, relatively pointy things. But I'm curious about the design & all things Mantis.

Guys- fwiw, the folks who have seen my MT7.2, ordered one!! lol!
I can bet this Besh Wedge folder blade will become very popular.

I handled one at a knife show today and I really liked it. Well made, smooth action, nicely finished, felt good in the hand. Is it a really fancy knife? No, but it looks like it's well made and can get some work done. I may try to snag one for a cut test and review. I haven't had much experience with Mantis knives in the past but this one was impressive.

cool. ^ For $90 smackers, you can't lose.
I'd love to see the BW blade in a Strider or an Emerson.

ok... the Besh wedge has it's merits and is catching on, but for 90 smackers you "can" lose and you can also do sooooo much better. Mantis are at best interesting or comical and at worst, well.... I can't even get into it. read some of the posts on them and then see if you feel so proud of your new folder

rusty- I know quality when I see it and the 7.2 is well made knife. I don't listen critics. I make my own decisions.
