I was just reading another post and remembered this.

Four years ago when I was living in L.A. I gave Butch a call.

The handle material was different then, but the price for the D/A Chameleon I was the same as today; $350.

I asked if he would be willing to make a manual only version. He said; sure.

How much? $200 he replied.

Think about that for minute.

Now think about the price for an Emerson Commander or Mach I, or the retail price of some BM models.

Anyone having trouble with this hypothetical decision?

I think it sounds very reasonable for a custom. Now if you are implying that the Retail Production prices are over the top, then I would have to agree, especially when comparing to a custom maker like Butch. Things that make you go Hmmm...

I was referring to the custom version made by Butch. I think it's a good deal for a well thought out enduring design.

Regards,
Ron
