Manufacturer or online retailer

I was just wondering what the percentage of people was as to who orders mainly or only from the manufacturer as opposed to an online retailer and vice versa? I personally prefer to order from online retailers that I trust just for the simple fact of price points and as a sidebar, how many people have to physically hold a knife before making the purchase?

I've only ordered from one Manufacturer, which was when I bought some seconds from Grohmann knives. The rest have been from online retailers and auction sites.

I do sometimes hold a knife before buying one, but it's usually from holding one that a friend owns, sometimes from holding one in a store.

Out of all the knives that I own, I have only ever held two before buying, a Kershaw Blackout and Buck 110. Everything else was sight unseen and I have yet to be disappointed.

Retailer for sure.
I would like to hold it before taking the plunge, however 9 times out of 10 I buy without doing so because there is nowhere around that enables me to do so.

Usually online retailers but I have bought from my local store and have bought at knife shows.

Everything else was sight unseen and I have yet to be disappointed.

Sir, you are a great guesser. I am not very lucky in that regard, and seldom (or never) get to handle one before buying. I always use an online knifeshop.
CRK Zaans, large Sebenzas, and some Striders are pleasing to me. Most Spydercos, the larger blades like the Stretch, PM2's, Gayle Bradley that I purchase are a blessing and I really love 'em. I mean, I've purchased folders well over $700 that I couldn't wait to unload again.
