I have received another one knife from Mr. Flatlander 1963,
it was the gift to me from him.
Well , Kalinga is very good knife. Thank you for this gift Mr. Gordon.
Kalinga is very comfortable knife for my palm because my palm is a little bit bigger than the middle size palm.
It looks like very unusual and I have never had the experience with the same blade shape.
I have done two skinning test but still on my kitchen. Kalinga is very good knife for skinning application and for field undressing.
I have sharpened it slightly and the steel is good heat treated.
I need to do some others field tests with Kalinga to get used to cut with it.
Thanks to such form of the edge the Kalinga cuts as a knife with the bigger blade.

Very nice! You have to love those Kalingas and you have to love ol' Flatlander, he's a terrific fella. Way to go Gordon!

Well I'm really looking forward to hearing about this knife being used to skin a bear or moose since that's the size animal I think this knife is capable of handling.

Igor thanks for the kind words and I'm glad you like the knife.

I feel I should show you guys the nice Russian knife I recieved from Igor. It is a very impressive custom. The main blade has a high hollow grind very similar to my TNT and the raspy edge on the fish scaler is most impressive. I'll do some better daylight pictures.

Igor can you help everone with some of the features?
Knife has
a. 3 5/8th modified clip point (lockback) main blade
b. fish scaler and screw driver point
c. bottle and can opener (I think)
d. cork screw
e. leather awl

Looks like a nice pair of knives and a great exchange of gifts. I have one of those of Kalingas, well more than one and the "more than one" speaks for itself.

I'm not a serious specialist with Russian Army knives.
But one guy did the review on Russian knivesforums that this knife was in survival KIT of military pilots.
Such survival KIT is constantly stored in a catapult armchair of pilots of jet military planes.
That way all parts of this knife were made of stainless steel.
Russian steel 95X18 is analog of American steel 440 C.
I presented this knife because it looks like typical Russian knife from early seventieth , something like the face of the "Made in USSR" knife.

Yes, Flatlander is really great guy.

Thanks for looking.

And I really like the knife Igor. I'm never seen anything quite like it.
Thanks for the comments about but its not necessary. My head is naturally swelled up enough. ;)

Igor is your hunting season over yet?

Awesome knives, I have never seen this Buck-cool. Also, I dig the Russian folder with the corkscrew. Nice fellowship of knife enthusiasm gents and thanks for the photos!
