I just wanted to post a few quick pics of my new gorgeous knife.

This thing is an absolute brute. I knew it'd be north of 30 oz, and though hefty, it feels nicely balanced in hand. Additionally, the handles are sculpted/rounded so... comfort bonus. Goes without saying that it chops quite well, but also performs jobs that require finesse with aplomb.

Feathers pretty well, too. Smaller stuff (cedar) and some larger, uglier feathers (black locust).

And a happy family portrait, thinking this one (for me) has got all the bases covered.

Sorry for the less than ideal pictures...overcast conditions in Wisconsin are not ideal for picture taking.:D

Thanks again, Shawn, a very heartfelt "thank you" for a wonderful gift.

Cheers,
Adam

Marten tracks, maybe fisher? Also saw some otter slides today which was pretty cool.

Cool knife - and cool pictures of the tracks.

We are supposed to get a little snow down here in the cornfields this weekend.

What sheath do you use for your mistress?

The NMFBM has a sweet spot when chopping, then it gets super effective and even though it is pretty heavy knife it does not tire as much.
Very nice addition to a collection.

The new mistress is currently sheathless.
Initially I was thinking kydex, but after a little consideration, I think she deserves something a little classier. I'm looking to hopefully get a Chuddy Bear sheath for it and likely go with a baldric sorta deal. It's just too heavy for me to comfortably wear on a belt. Plus, on account of my pancake ass affliction I'd be unable to keep my pants up.

Cool!

A baldrick rig would be cool -

I have Mr. Brown working on a sheath for my BM - I just wondered what you were using.

thanks sir!

Congrats on scoring your NMFBM!!!
There just isn't anything else quite like a Mistress! ;)

AAhhh Wisconsin. When is it not overcast :) Makes me miss home. Love the winter Busse pics!

Congratulations on your NMFBM! Tan micarta with a black blade has been a favorite combination of mine for a long time.
