I recently scored a Janus extension pouch in trade. Ive wanted one of these for quite awhile. I think this is one of the best pouches Maxpedition makes, but you dont see many reviews on the forums. I like to see what a pouch holds, and it can be hard by the generic website pictures. The reason I like this pouch so much is its versatility. It can be taken on and off quickly, and is equally at home on a packstrap or on a belt, or on a baldric strap for the bottleholder kits, or even attatched to a knife sheath. Its made as an extension for the gearslinger packs for those gents who require a longer strap. I didnt need the strap extender, but I really liked the way the pouch is set up. Mine is filled with PSK/repair items, firestarting stuff, and a few first aid items. These hold a ton of gear without being bulky. They are made for strap and waistbelt carry so it carries very nice, and as with all maxpedition, its bombproof. With the internal orginization it holds items in so they dont spill out when you are getting something out. Also helps to not have to dump a pouch to find something. I used a 4x6 from them to store this stuff, and it didnt carry very well on a strap, and it was a pain to get in and out of because you had to dig through it to find what you need and while I was wearing it It made it even harder to get into it without the contents wanting to spill out everywhere....Anyways, im a pouch geek...hahaha

I snapped some pics of it

backside of pouch has Molle for atatchment, or you slide the belt or strap behind molle panel.

Frontside has shock cord, and you can slide items behind velcro.

Nice shots Jake, I got one of those about a year and a half ago when I got my ma sitka and did a review on it. I think it is an awesome pouch for all of the same reasons you mentioned. I have hit the woods and the streets both with it as my only "pack" riding on my belt.

Right on Mist. It was your review that made me want one....Shows how long Ive been wanting it. hahaha

Glad to hear it still works for ya. I really like this one. I think it is one of the best pouches Ive ever used. It carries so many ways well, and it even works good just tossed in the pack.

I've had one for years on my Monsoon pack. It just fits my Glock 26. It's a very versatile pouch.

I wanted one of these about a year and half ago. Still do, but I forgot about it for a while. Thanks for bringing it back to my attention.

i have one on my fatboy and its definitely a versatile little pouch. nice review. i keep mine attached the bag but i just want something really simple to grab attach to a belt and hit the trails its perfect for it and holds a nice survival kit in it

Yup, I have the same pouch. The organization capabilities are one of the best reasons to get one. No dumping to find stuff!

You have been wanting one for a while. Gld you got one and glad you like it. I bought mine new and I've never regretted the purchase. I have carried it in a lot of different situations. Fits in a cargo pocket nicely. Where do all you guys still get the strike anywhere matches? The only ones I can find locally are expensive and so old they hardly work at all. I've just been sticking with the REIs.
