Marathon watchband?

I got a Marathon general purpose watch from Tadgear a while back, and I like it a lot, but the band is too small, and so thin, I don't know how to go about getting a new, bigger band for it. I have thick wrists, and I'm on the next to last hole. I've looked locally and on the net, but no such luck. Does Marathon have any options available? Anyone familiar with these?

One last thing, the little instruction slip that comes with the watch states: life expectancy, 2 years

Are we talking the watch or the battery?

Is that one of the milspec disposable Marathons with the one-piece case? Even if so it is possible to change the battery but you'll need a crystal puller, or a watchmaker with a crystal puller to do it for you. He won't charge you much.

Is the strap attached with spring pins like a normal civilian watch, or does the watch have fixed pins? If it has fixed pins you can still change the strap, but you'll need a strap designed for that kind of watch -- either a one-piece that slips through and goes under the watch, or the kind with screws or rivets to attach it to the lugs.

The military watch mavens hang out at http://www.broadarrow.net/ You can get a variety of straps for fixed lugs there, and those guys can tell you all kinds of things....

Cougar, mine is the one pictured at the link below:

It has a rubber plug on the back which I suppose is a battery hatch, and the literature that came with the watch indicates the proper replacement battery, so I'm assuming it's user replaceable.

Thanks for the link to broadarrow.net!
