This has been a fun project. I am still learning CAD CAM and Rick Hinderer offered to help me see if I could turn the Marauder boot knife into a folder. I sent Rick a CAD file that I had for the boot knife and he started to transform it into a folder. After we found out that he could make it work, we then proceeded to tweak it into the final design. Since I am just getting my CNC mill operational, I asked Rick to make me a couple of Prototypes so that I could see how it felt. With the Brend ground blade installed, here is the final product. With help from friends like Rick and Larry D. who has also offered his help in getting the folder into production, I should have the first run coming out by Jan 1,2004.

Blade length - 3 7/8
Overall length - 8 7/8
Frames 0.159 inch Titanium
Blade steel - S30-V (all blades will be hand ground and finished by Walter Brend)
The first 25 will be numbered.
This only a Prototype and I am going to try to offer one model with an inlay and one with some sort of texture

Nice design and use of quality materials. The blade reminds me of the Emerson Commander's blade. (Is the blade hollow or chisel ground? It's difficult to determine based on the picture). The handle...well, that is ALL Branton/Brend. Estimated cost of the 1st 25?

Oops, forgot to also ask about the shiny round thing partially hidden by the clip--waddizit?

Since there is a Hinderer connection, I'm guessing that it is the lock bar stabilizer he developed.
