This arrived today, along with several lesser blades.

I'm particularly pleased with it, for the overall condition and original sheath.

That blade has NO rust or pitting; it's just stained carbon steel.

Question: When was Convex Grind started; by what maker; and how long was it popular? Is my estimate of age at all accurate?

That Convex feature was the clincher for me; I find it much more attractive than the Saber or Spear profile.

Thanks for lookin'...wlw

That's lovely, I love the look of these old Marbles knives. Thanks for showing :)

Your Marbles Expert is very nice. During WWII there was a shortage of metals. Brass, steel, and aluminum were in short supply. Marbles went to a synthetic pommel due to the shortage. I can't remember what it is called. But I'll bet a Marbles collector will jump in here.

Tom

EDIT: I think these WWII pommels were made of Bakelite.
