Marble hatchets at gun show yesterday

I bought a couple of Marble hatchets at the gun show here in georgia last weekend for $26.00 each. New and in the box,wooden handles. pretty nice. I got a #9 with leather cover and a safety axe with a metal fold up protecter.

Can anyone tell me anything about these items...are they christmas gifts? or are they keepers.

This is my first axe post and I'm also curious about the new Marble's products. I have a vintage No 2 Safety axe but to replace the missing guard and rubber grips with repros would set me back $75+. I've always wanted a functioning Safety Axe but it looks to me as if the new examples have really parted with the traditional designs. Still at the price you paid I don't think you can go wrong. Let us know how you (or the recipiants) like them. I am quite fond of a good axe and probably have 40 or 50 good heads ranging from big broad axes to tiny oddities.
