Does anybody own one of these Marble Trailmakers? I'd like to know how they are. Please share your experiences and opinions on these knives... Thanks

Marble FB's are first class. I would call them the poor man's Randall but they deserve more. I'd say they're the smart man's Randall. Or is Randall the rich man's Marble?
The fit and finish are equal if not better, and they have flat grinds. Plus there's no wait.

I have a 7" with a Stag handle. I bought it as a working knife for whacking branches in the yard. It's works well, goes through 1 ½" branches in one shot, but I did get some edge chipping, no big deal. The chip came out easily with a diamond stone, but that convex edge isn't going to last, that's OK. I'd put the Rc somewhere around 56. It takes a good edge easily, comes back to hair popping sharp. One minor complaint is the sheath, the leather is kind of thin, and it's possible to cut the sheath inserting the knife. I may one day have a Kydex sheath made up for it.

I got a good price with 888knivesRus.

There is a thread over in the review forum about Marbles Knives y'all might want to read.
Personally I would prefer a Marbles to a Randall any day of the week.
The Marbles blades made way back when and being assembled today are 1095 that has had 50 years to transmute any left over carbides. If they are like my 50 year old knife they will be awesome.
I don't know if all they are assembleing are the old blades left over.

They came out with an improved
(1/4" longer in handle and choil) version of some of thier old ones in 52100.I have one of thier new Woodcrafts in that. The Trailmaker is differentially or zone hardened 5160 r so I understand.

The blades will rust as any other carbon steel will.I don't have a lot of problem wit rust on my blades with minimal care.

A convex edge is easy to maintain if you use a slack piece of sandpaper or emory cloth to sharpen it with.To do so is like dressing the edge on a Busse Basic by pulling the edge away from the medium you are using.
The beautiful part of that is there is no secondary edge with this method.
If you want to get really fussy with it you can polish it on leather charged with whatever grit you want.

If you mix milk of magnesia with vodka and orange juice do you get a phillips screwdriver?

. A BIG SOB - I love it! My only complaint is the rather flimsy sheath IMHO - it need to be thicker leather, or made out of some 0.093" kydex. I posted something the review section few months back.

I used the knife to cut up a large roast about a month ago - DAMN, it just sliced thru it like a hot knife in butter! I cleaned it off right away, and have had great success with the Sentry Tuff Cloths on the high carbon steel blade.

IMHO, the Marble's are a lot of knife for the $$! I like the classic look and feel of the leather handles
