I have a Marbles Expert that I believe to have been made in 2003? The washer pattern doesn't seem to quite match up with any of the 97-02 patterns that I found but it came in the bobcat box and has "Marbles Gladstone USA" etched on the blade. Can anybody tell me if its 52-100b steel or something else?

I can't tell you definitively, but I think you are correct on the blade steel.

Marbles had both a US-made line and a foreign-made line towards the end. Obviously, if it says USA on the blade, yours was the US-line.

Up till late 2001/early 2002 they used 5160 on the larger blades not 52100.
Its possible its 5160 if its a 2003
They also made a run for AG Russell knives of Ideals in A2 steel-this was pre 2001

After the changes in 2002 they went to a steel called alchemite in their knives, no one was sure what it was. They soon quit using this steel and went to american made non stainless high carbon steel. A few years later and until their demise Camillus was supplying their blade steel (carbon).

I am a major marbles collector and if you want to e-mail a pic of your knife I may be able to identify it for you.
