Marbles first prototype Safety Axe ??????

Hi,

Trying to find out if this could possibly be one of the earliest made safety axe. There are no stampings on it but it is extremely similar to early ones I have found. It is 11 3/8" long x 4 1/4" HL. 2 5/8" CE

I don't know about prototype, but that looks really dang old and possibly hand-forged.
