Marble's Handle Materials?

I just won a Marble's Fieldcraft on ebay that has the carbon steel blade and a leopard wood handle with stag pommel. In looking for them around the net including Marble's own site, it seems the wood w/stag pommel types aren't being offered anymore. I found some on Knifeoutlet, but that was about it. Has Marble's quit offereing this handle combo?

They still have the stacked leather with stag pommels listed and easy to find.

I'm quite happy regardless as I got this one at a great price. I'm just curious.

Those darn Marble fixed blades keep showing up in the pics on here and you all have been just adding to my hankering for one. Well, now that this is taken care of, what else will someone here tempt me with. Don't answer that! :D

Amos,
Son you done got me all exited as I just love vintage Marble's as you know, so please add the link before I go insane...? Please??:) :D :D :D

Well, it ain't a vintage per se, but I'll point to it anyway. Since I want to follow the rules so here is the ebay item # 290089830883.

I'm eagerly looking forward to getting it. Vintage pattern, carbon steel blades, traditional handle materials, and a convex grind. :D

Thanks, Rusty1. I was quite happy about it! I've long admired the Marbles's and wanted one in that type of blade config. These days I seem to favor fixed blade knives in the 3 1/2 to 4 inch range. so it should be a good one for me. It just seems now that blades in that range seem to balance, handle, and point well for me better than bigger blades.

Now to keep myself distracted while I wait for it. I've had good dealings with Patrick at Ideal Outdoors before so that's not a worry.

Anyone have any Marble's knife stories or pix they want to share while I'm waiting?

I just put a pic of Marbles Sport on the Stacked Leather Handle Thread, but here is a little ditty my dad picked up for me at the flea market for a dollar

It took a razor edge, and has held it extremely well.

Well, it came in today! Still without a means to make an image, but it looks just like all the other ones advertised. Which means it is a great looking knife. Nice and sharp out of the box. I think the name Fieldcraft is quite appropriate and speaks to this knife's ideal (pun unintended) use.
