I was intrigued by the Matt Graham mods to Codor's jungle bowie, and ordered one as they seem to be less availble now. While waiting for the Condor arrival, I decided to start with the Marbles jungle bowie because it is cheaper, readily available, and since my Marbles machete works great, I figured the quality would be ok. The Marbles blade is carbon steel, which may be more interesting for me than the Condor which is stainless. Well, the Condor finally came, and feels so good as is that I am gonna have to think hard about modifying it. However, the Marbles mods worked very well indeed, and the knife is much more handy now. I still need to decide what type scales to rehandle with, and am considering osage orange, canvas micarta, or a cord wrap which would add to the primitive knife theme. what do you think?

Do what makes you happy. Large Clip points make me happy. So I’ll refrain from making a comment. Lol.

Im all for making modifications to a knife to make it uniquely yours. It’s a fun part of the hobby.

Am trying the handle wrap, and I like the look, yet my lanyard hole is too small for this cord. Any suggestions? Smaller cord I guess. Is there a better way tp wrap the end of the handle?

I tried, and the wooden handle scale split as soon as the bit touched it. so it will get a new wood handle, and I may shape it like the Condor handle

I broke the original handle scale trying to enlarge the lanyard hole, so it is getting an oak handle. still have shaping to do, yet already feels much better in hand

got the oak handle shaped up, stained and oiled. feels really good in hand, solid. The project turned out nicely for my needs, I think it will be a fine companion in the woods and camp . Glad for all the comments about Matt Graham's mods, as they seem to work very well.
