Hi Everyone
I recently came across a Marble's fixed blade knife that has an unusual tang stamp. Instead of the usual MARBLE'S the "E" is actually stamped as a distinct and complete "R". Hers's a photo of the stamp.
The rest of the stamps reads: Gladstone, Mich. U.S.A.
Knife appears to be a genuine Marble's hinting knife with stacked leather handle and brass guard. Nothing else about it looks off or aftermarket. I live in Michigan so it has not traveled far.
Has anyone else ever seen this mis-stamp before?
Could this be a known factory error from Marble's history?
Any idea what era this knife is from?
Appreciate any insights or background you can share! Thanks in advance
