Does anyone know where I can fing marbles production numbers (now many of each model they produced) for their 52100 knives. I'd like to buy one or two just 'cuz I like 'em, but would like to maximize any appreciation (I fully realize there may not be any) by buying rarer models.

A Sport 99 is definitely on my list, but I'm trying to decide if I should buy a Plainsman, Expert II, Small (7 1/4") Trailmaker or another knife. The Loveless Trail Knife is out of my range.

I don't even think Marble's has any idea of how many in each pattern were made. If you are looking for maximum investement potential, I think that both the Loveless Trailknife and Sport '99 are surely to go up in value down the road. Behind those two models, any stag handled knife would be a sound bet. There were also very few of the mini-Trailmakers made (I believe maybe a 200 in each handle material).

I love the Sport 99 anyway, so I'll look for a Loveless stamped stag handles example. The only Loveless Trail knives I cold get away with buying have leather or micarta handles. AG Russell has some stag mini Trailmakers, but they want $225 for them. Again, the ones I can afford are mostly leather handles, although I've seen some jigged bone handled versions I could afford. I think I'll buy a Sport 99 or two (and maybe a Plainsman "user") and call it good. Thanks :)
