I think most everyone has some very specific models and patterns that they search for in an attempt to acquire. I've been hunting this 2001 Marble's Teardrop in stag for several years now. These Gladstone, MI dandies haven't been manufactured for a long time and this model was pretty limited.
I guess they originally came in bone, buffalo horn, fake MOP, but not stag. Turns out, A. G. Russell himself had a stash of Sambar Stag (during the stag embargo) and made a deal with Marbles to make as many of the six patterns as possible in Stag for Russell who had the exclusive right to sell them.

Anyways in the last few years I always just miss out in the very few times I've found one for sale. Needless to say I'm pretty happy!

And with a baby brother GEC #25. A perfect match.

That's some great stag on that teardrop. Congratulations on finding the knife you've been looking for all these years.

What's the blade steel on that? And more importantly, do you have a picture of the other side?

Good for you, comoha. I'm happy you have found the knife the knife you were searching for. It sure feels great when you finally find that one you had been searching for. It has happen to me a couple of times. There is one left on my search list that remains elusive. :D

Steel is 1095. I wouldn't have it any other way. :D
Here's a backside pic. Sorry for the lighting issues, it clouded up real good outside so no more sunshine-assisted pics today.

That is a beautiful knife !
I would dig it even more if it was a single blade , for some reason I prefer single blade slipjoints. That stag is awesome...

That is stunning stag and a real nice knife! My QC made Marbles is one of the highest quality pieces I have!! Mine is all 1095 to, and takes a killer edge after I reprofiled to my liking!

Nice grab......I have it's cousin.

I like the stag on yours better.

Queen out did them selves on that knife! I am such a stag snob now and just love it when I find a knife with stag scales like that teardrop with the bark going in all directions on both sides like that one!. Glad you found it. :)

Thanks folks.
It is a sweety. But not destined for safe queen status.
Week two in the pocket starts today. :)
