I've heared a lot of complaints about the sheath on the Trailmaker. Just about everyone says it's too thin. I got mine on Monday and I love this knife. I really like the sheath. It is just beautiful and the leather is pretty thick. I think this is the nicest leather sheath I can remember seeing. My question is: Am I just different from the rest or did Marbles make a new type sheath for their Trailmaker and I just happen to have the new one? I really can't see why people don't like this sheath. It's very classic like the knife. I love it!

I am the one who orginally complained about the sheath on my 10" Trailmaker. You must have the 7" version (?)....LOL. The leather sheath for the 10" IMHO is NOT ideal - the leather is too thing, and flexible. I had to slide in a piece of 1/16" inch plastic so that I could use it. If you have a picture of the knife please sent it to me to see. If you would like I can take some pics and send them to you as well. My 10" sheath is not rigid enough.
The leather sheaths on the old Blackjacks were much nice quality leather. I have 3 other smaller new style Marble's - these sheaths are good quality products - nicely tanned leather. My 10" sheath is anemic.
I love the 10" leather handled knife of course, and the 3 other small skinners!

I am really curious if you and I have the same sheath. I feel that my sheath is very sturdy. The thickness of the leather is 1/8" and it's not at all flimsy.
