I just received a NIB Marbles Workman folder, and I am very impressed. What I thought was going to be a cheap knife of Chinese manufacture turned out to be a gem. The fit and finish is excellent, as is the action on the blades. And the main blade is as sharp out of the box as any knife that I've ever had. I did however have to clean some gunk out of the knife and give it a proper oiling. Perhaps I just got lucky, but I'm a happy camper! Not mentioning a brand name, yesterday I returned a pricey US made Stockman that was rather dull out of the box, with a gap between the liner and the backspring. You never know.

What knife did you get? When I Google Marbles Workman, I get a knife with a blade, a screwdriver blade, and a small hammer. I that the knife you got?
I have a couple of the new Marbles folders. One is a TL29 pattern with a locking screwdriver blade and orange G10 scales, very nicely made, IMO. The other is Marble’s take on the venerable military demo knife. Fit and finish compare favorably with my Camillus original.

I've had a couple of Marbles Workman knives for a couple of years, at least. One is a scout knife, the other is called a trapper. Both are very functional knives, solidly-built, with G-10 handles. I like the in-line Philips screwdriver on each.

Nothing wrong with the offshore made Marbles knives, IMHO. The company that owns the brand is an American company, located in Tennessee. They also own the Rough Ryder brand.

I have a couple of the MR278 "Demo" knives, and they are every bit as good as the Western made one that the Army Reserves issued to me in 1975.
A Marbles MR417 two blade slipjoint Folding Hunter has earned a permanent place on my belt next to a Buck 110 as part of my EDC.
I also have a Marbles "fishing knife" or "bait knife" I suppose you could call it, with a folded steel handle like a Mercator 55 (I don't have it with me, and do not remember the MR number)

I've never had a problem with an offshore manufactured Marbles product.

Mine is the Trapper, with the stubby Phillips screwdriver and the bail.
