Marbles

I agree with Sunnyd that the newer ones are made in China with the exception of a few that were made by Northwoods Knives in Gladstone Michigan. These were actually made by Queen Cutlery and assembled by Northwoods if my memory serves me right..The quality of these knives are fantastic and light years ahead of the China made knives.

From 2001-2004ish Northwoods made Marble's slipjoints under the name MSA (Marble's Safety Axe) they were indeed made by Queen with the Schatt Morgan construction and finish. there are not a lot of them out there now, but they are worth it if you find them. I recently got my hands of a few from Dave Shirley at NW. They are the last ones going to dealers.

The Classic Series hunting knives from Marbles ~are~ made in the USA still, if that's something you'd be interested in.

I have been looking at the Marbles Fieldcraft for a EDC. I was looking at the pocket knives as a match in the case I needed a smaller blade,or I am in dress clothes.

In that case, I suggest taking a look at the large selection of USA-made knives from Case, Canal Street Cutlery, Queen/Schatt Morgan/Robeson, or maybe the new Great Eastern Cutlery. Lots of vintage USA knives around too - Schrade, Camillus, etc.

Thanks Bob W, I have been looking hard at the Case Slabside with a 3 inch blade. I think it would make a good companion for my canoe. Decisions Decisions,
