It is a real pretty knife. We ran those scales and thought they might go to a Buck of the Month. The engraving really sets it off.

A beautiful knife! I really like the etching and the sheath is really cool. Think I am going to pass on it though.

Edit: If I were to get it, I don't think I have any paracord or leather that would look quit right with the light etching. Hmmmm......

I'm guessing aesthetics, reduces weight and helps balance the knife.

Reduces drag and stops items from sticking to the blade during cutting.

I found the hole to function for certain light task when you pinch the blade with thumb and fore finger.
