Just received....Marcus is a gentlemen and a pleasure to deal with. It is truly stunning....I'm in awe. Jim Cooper got it first to do his magic...

Sambar stag, was a solid block of D2

Marcus is one of the best Loveless style knife makers and as you say a great guy. I have many of his knives. This one is absolutely awesome and one of his best ever knives. He is making me something special at the moment, I will show it when it's finished.

curious: why D2?

Thank you for posting Jordan. It was a pleasure making the knife for you. :)

Rick: Still working on your "special project." ;)

Pootsy: The insert is for the hold down/locator. Nearly all of the original 13 Integrals that came from the Loveless shop had the hole in the bolster. Also improves the balance and feel. A solid bolster makes for a heavier knife -and Bob was a minimalist.

Lorien: I chose D2 as the choice for thick stock is getting thin these days. Another choice would have been 440C, but I like the way D2 cuts (more similar to ATS-34, 154CM) and when heat treated right, it is almost as corrosion resistant and clean. The blade on this knife was finished with a true mirror polish. As Jim says "Handrubbing covers up a multitude of sins." A true mirror polish hides nothing.

thanks Marcus, I appreciate the explanation!

The images are good. However, this is a clear case of the knife in-hand being far more substantial and gratifying.

The in process photo REALLY places it in perspective. What a knife!

Jordan: Thanks for posting. Marcus: Major props and thanks for the opportunity to make both of us look good.

Coop

One of the nicest integrals I've seen come down the pike in a LONG time ! :thumbup:
Congrats, Jordan, a real stunner.
Great work, Marcus.

Doug

Outstanding in every respect, with the exception of the horrid "104" scratching.
But I know that's a "Loveless Thing". ;) :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

There's nothing I like better than an integral, this is absolutely SUPER!
