A while ago, some great guys donated the funds for a Boss Jack(Forager, Petah, Jaxx, Knifehunter all donated). Amy-0 made it happen with a lightning quick turn around, and keeping track of the order. David Brown, of Buy Brown sheaths donated a sheath.

My cousin Robert, was the recipient. He was initially deployed to Japan.

He has since been re-deployed to Afghanistan, specifically Helmand province. His dad was not able to tell me exactly where in Helmand.

He just got in contact with his dad, and wanted him to pass on that he has the Boss Jack on his vest every day.

Couple of things about Helmand Province, (according to Wiki) it is the largest opium producer in the world! 70% of the opium supply comes from this province, and Afghanistan is the supplier of 90% of the total world supply of opium. Helmand is also the Taliban stronghold (protecting the drug trade, their main source of income).

When Robert sends some photo's in country, I will post them and keep you updated!

As a side note on military efficiency, Robert came home for Christmas on leave. Then flew him back to Okinawa, Japan, then back again to the states a few days later. Instead of putting him on leave in the states and then sending him back after like 3 days to be uptrained for redeployment to Afghanistan.

Very cool!! A buddy of mine is army and deploying this spring. I'm going to see if he wants to take my DSF or RMDx.

Very cool, thank him again for me and tell him to stay safe, we will be praying for his safe return.

Thank you for sharing the pics!

Praying for your cousin and all our men and women over there for a safe and speedy return.

Bout a year or so ago I attended a film screeining in Portland, OR, "Shepherds of Helmand". It was a documentary style film that followed several soldiers from the Oregon National Guard during there time in the Helmand Province. It was a very moving film followed by a live Q & A with some of the Men featured in the documentary.

Bigfattyt,

Cool pix, man! :) Please pass on to Robert that I'm very grateful for his service.
Thanks for allowing me to help get a BOSS Jack into his hands and may it serve him well throughout his tour(s).
Wishing hard for him, and all our service men & women, to come home safe & whole.

First off it's great that people here supported the project, makes you glad to be a part of it. And of course it went smooth if Amy had anything to do with it.

God bless him and all our service men and women!

Very nice. Great tool to have in his kit in theater. Great story. I appreciate his service.

Thanks Amy. You probably don't remember all the emails we sent back and forth, because you were so busy with tons of emails. But it would not have happened without you keeping on top of it.

Also, it would not have happened in time for his initial deployment without you taking a direct hand in it!!!!!!

Every time I talk to Robert or his Dad, they ask me to tell you guys how he is doing.

Robert was home for Christmas, and I got to see him very briefly before I had to fly back home (he and his dad drove up to Utah from Vegas overnight just to stop by at 5:30 am before we had to leave to catch our flight).

Thumbs all the way up. Thanks for the update. I was actually thinking about that 2 weeks ago when selling the boss jack. Cheers

Thanks for the update and pics. It was my pleasure to chip in for this.
Tell Robert thanks for his service and to stay safe. Looking forward to more updates with pics.
