Hello everyone. I just purchased a Camillus Marine Combat knife and noticed that there is a little looseness between the pommel and the tang. The pin is tight in the pommel. Just wanted to know if this was a normal characteristic.

Thanks
Tom

Tom,
"A little" looseness is not uncommon. As you said the pin that holds the buttcap on is keeping it from moving, but the deminsions of the stacked leather handle has shrunk. Usually this happens if the knife has been in a very dry environment.

However, if you feel it is excessive, we will be more than happy to take a look at it for you. If so, please contact customer service @ 800-344-0456.

Thanks for being a customer!

I don't find loose pieces on knives to be acceptable. Especially if you ever want to hammer on the pommel. I had exactly the same problem on a new Marine and sent it back to Camillus. They replaced the knife with a new one.
