Okay, I'm really thinking about picking up a Ontario Marine Raider, but I can't help but wonder how sturdy the tip is. I have a KABAR Heavy Bowie, and I'm happy with it, but I just like the look of the MR (not to mention all of the good things I've read about it). Thanks in advance for any replies!:thumbup:

Marine Raider tip question

I have one of those. I think it's a petty good knife for the price. The tip is rather pointy, so no it's not going to be as sturdy as something like a CS Trailmaster, so I wouldn't try prying with it or anything, but other than that I can't think of any "normal" use that would snap it.
What do you plan on using it for? ...It does make a decent chopper, but the somewhat sharp clip point /false edge will chew through a batton pretty quick.
