Marine tuff cloth on mirror finish and satin blades.

hey all I’m soon to be moving to a coastal town, I have a few mirror polished knives I have never needed to use anything other then mineral oil to protect them from rust and it does not cause any marks on the mirror finish. Anyway I’m going to be using marine cloth because of the close proximity of the ocean,I am wandering if using it on satin and mirror finished blades maybe will ruin the polish or discolour them?
