i've got it and i'd like to play online with some people. my friend code is 1289-8785-6734 if you want to race sometime. i love this game but it drives me crazy. it seems like once you get hit by one thing, EVERYTHING HITS YOU!! I'll be cruising along in the top 3 and then BAM! red shell, blooper, POW, and I get hit by the big bullet and i'm in 12th. My wife has pretty much given up on the game now because she says it cheats.

Mario Kart has always been like that... still fun though. I don't know about "cheating" but I don't know how random certain events actually are either, and the difficulty spikes get old sometimes. The DS Mario Kart is a hell of a lot of fun until you get to the 150cc races... I can't win all of them for the life of me.
I'm thinking about picking up the Wii game tomorrow... I'm off and need something to do.

FWIW, I think they've set a pretty good price on the game (comparitively speaking). $50 for the game with the wheel thingie, and $10 for an extra wheel. I was expecting $70 or so for just the game, and $20-$30 for the extra wheel doohickey. The wife and I stayed up too late last night playing that dang game.

As cheap as the game is (and let's face it, the races are FILLED with cheap moments
), it is by far my favorite Wii game yet. I picked it up for the wife to appease her while I got into GTA IV on my xbox. However, after a week or so of GTA, I find myself playing MK with the wife most evenings.
I know using the nunchuck or GC controller improves handling, but nothing is more fun that using that goofy little wheel.

i'm always going to use the wheel, it just doesn't seem right not to use it. i hate being in the lead and then getting raped by the blue shell and then immediately getting nailed by about 10 other things. i've also learned to use a heavy kart online because if i don't people just bump me off into space.
my biggest complaint is when i'm playing and my kitten decides to attack me, i wreck all over the place.
