Marketing Idea/Sugestion for Younger Collectors..

TodayI was thinking of a way Buck could help build a younger/bigger/better collector base...The US Mints $.25 series has been a HUGH sucess,I think Buck could do something simular.....Pick a US made series that retails for less than $40.00 ,release a new state issue every 12 weeks,vary the ammount produced according to state size.Say 5,000 for California and 1,000 for the smaller New England states ect...Relase them first evenly to that states distrobtors/WallMarts Mabe even make a more expensive version for advanced collectors... A Press Release EVERY 12 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Include a booklet of State Facts???? """IM buying my daddy a WV Buck cause he was born there""" I can hear the cash register ring all the way to Ocala Chuck........Collector intrest will be served by different production levels Just make distrubtion fair so a few wholesellers could not creats instant rarties..Is there a Wallmart in every state?????? I see it !!!!!!!!!!!! It might be national news EVERY 12 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AP News 6/24/09..."Today yet another near Riot occured in local WallMarts across the state of Texas as Buck Inc released there latest in there "STATE HISTORY" series...State senator Bill Clinton says"Unfair Texas recived 12,000 when we got only five!" and "Out of state buyers came in early and just ravaged the sporting goods dept." Something MUST be done!" A federal Inquiry is being considered......

Hey Clint, I like it.... But 1,000 for each state... They can always make more... Maybe a 150 expensive ones for the advanced collectors... That would be great..... Like the Buck Collectors Club Knives...

If not states what about some hunting related themes like a "Grand Slam" series or popular hunting cartridges?

The number of issue reoccuring dates are a key part....mabe every 8 weeks.It must have a common theme.Time frame should be set,3 years total ? It could be any number of themes.....The purpose is to bring NEW people to knife collecting,and have them do it with Buck!! The younger the better.I like states, but another theme could work...I like wallmart as a distrubter...There everywhere! I bet it wont be long befor folks would buy to resell creating a VERRY STRONG DEMAND! Its finding the balance of number needing to sell for Buck to profit verses collector demand..

I see where your headed with this Bucksway, but I doubt it would work as planned.
Otherwise Buck would have been all over this years ago?
Anyway, I hate wally world. The ones here cant keep anything stocked for one, and 2 the ones up here are getting more politically correct. No more firearms, and only the cheapest Bucks are sold, clampack style! Also I think most franklin mint type stuff (collectors stuff) released every (insert time frame here) is usually associated with cheap knock off junk???? (just my .02 worth, I know it aint much )

Also I think it would be like collecting state quarters, by the third year of release everyone has gotten over the excitement...
Pretty much the newness has worn off.
I started my kids on 425 mini bucks and moved up from there. I am also scared of getting my kids hooked on Bucks this early
They'll be bankrupt if they get Buck fever too soon

Yes, you got a point......But one day Ill come up with a really great one!!!!!!!! Kids ALLWAYS get in $ trouble sooner or later and you could gettem cheep!
