Marksman bad heat treat?

Hello! I just recently purchased a Marksman after debating on it for a year. Got the knife in and the edge was very mediocre and not straight in places (wave-y looking) so I put it on my Edge Pro and started to sharpen it and noticed there are these areas of the blade that are a different color and coincide with the waves in the edge. I sharpened on it for a bit to see if maybe it was just bad grinding from the factory, but that made no difference. Is this a bad heat treat? I've never dealt with Buck's warranty, is this something they would cover?

I would call them... When you ship it back to them... Put BKI... Don't put Buck Knives on your Box...

Good luck... :)

Other than color how is the edge? Use it and if there are issues with the edge then send it back.

I could not notice your concern from the photo. Mostly taped. Plus, it could be hard to photograph. I would sharpen it and use it. To see how things go. DM

I would email Customer Service, they want every customer to believe their knife is not defective....300
