Just bought a lightly used Marlin 81TS, 22 bolt action. Got a Simmons 4x9 scope.

One Ben Franklin! Haven't used it yet, but it is in great shape, and I can't wait to use it. Groundhogs and target practice for now. Read that the 81TS had a lighter trigger than the 981T model, don't want a hair trigger, but don't want anything too heavy. Real excited with it.

Funny you say that about the trigger. The new 900 series guns are supposed to have an upgraded trigger.
I have an 81TS and wasn't that happy with the trigger when I got it. Its about a 5 minute job to take it apart and put a different return spring in though, just can't go too light or the trigger won't reset and catch the sear. Now its a friggin tack driver. Anything inside 50 yards is MINE :D
You can also play around a LITTLE bit with how much you torque the stock bolts in. The receiver sits on two pillars/blocks in the stock and the rest is sort of free floated. Not entirely free, because of the tube magazine, but changing the tension on the stock bolts will affect how the pressure is distrubuted.
Mine isn't all that ammo sensitive, but its worth trying different kinds out. It shoots winchester power points and remington golden bullets the best (bout half an inch at 35 yards), which is awesome since they're pretty cheap. Mini Mags are right there close with them. Just about anything will shoot good enough for plinking or whacking varmints within reasonable range.

Congratulations on the new gun. I hope you like it as much as I like mine

Matt, I think this one is a little too nice for cb caps, so I'm definitely going to play around. Leave those bricks of caps for my single shot 22.

Mine shoots CB's just fine. Its really damn quiet with them too, but not all that accurate. CB's are too danged expensive to shoot much though if you've got room to shoot LR's. Last time I was at gander mountain I could get Remington Golden Bullet (LR 38 grain hp), Federal Spitfire (LR 33 grain hyper velocity hp), or Federal Champion (LR 40 grain solid) in boxes of 500 for about $10. The federal shells were even individually packaged in boxes of 50 with plastic dividers :D
A 100 round pack of CB's was $4.99:grumpy:
You probably have to watch the chamber for lead buildup if you shoot CB's all the time also. Could lead to problems if you decided to try using standard length shells later on.
