Catalina Sailor from Blade Classic.

3" locking marlin spike is unlocked by puching the lanyard attachment toward mid-knife. The spike is not too thick while the point is exactly pointy.

The 3" blade has even grinds and its sharp. And the nail nick is deep wide enough to get a good grip. The blade is 1/8" thick.

The G-10 has small checkering and is fitted to the liners closely. I find no gaps. The liners are thick giving the knife a strong feeling.

Both the spike and the blade open hard which I like in this kind of a tool. All the better to keep them from opening in your pocket.

If you have mad squabbles with knots this might be the knife for you. $20 + shipping NGK.

Pics later.

nice knife. China?
Got a really old metal one that works the same way.

Thank you knarfeng.

You betcha its from China.

Got a pic of your? Pretty please...

When you need a marlin spike its nice to have a strong one with a small enough point to work with smaller knots and a large enough handle to get some torque on that baby.

Gotta go find it. It's in the attic. It was part of a splicing kit that I got about 30-35 years ago. I think it got stored with my backpack. That means it's way in the back corner.

I used to run into a guy in the southern oregon gold fields who used a marlin spike for sniping (working cracks in rocks to remove any gold). He lived on his lonesome claim the last few years of his life. Not the absolute best prybar for rocks but it was the one he had with him most often so it got used. He taught my sons and I how to snipe my younger son found some pretty nice pieces that way while floating around on the river while the rest of us were mining with suction gear.
