Finished this up for the blade show. I have to give credit to Tim Herman for inspiring me with his color engraved swordfish knife.

When the knife is closed it is a marlin. When the knife is open it is a swordfish.

Blade is 2-3/4in long made of Delbert Ealy turkish twist damascus. Front and rear bolsters are also Delberts large twist pattern damascus. Scales are Grade A mother of peatl.

Fully fileworked titanium liners, titanium backbar and screws. I fileworked fish onto the backbar. Carved fins onthe bolsters and pearl. The bolster screws have been specifically placed to represent the fish's eyes.

The knife will be displayed in a frame as if it were mounted and I will be tying a small streamer to be mounted with it.
Overall length is 8 inches.
Thanks for looking,
Chuck

Well, I can honestly say that this is one of the most original designs I have seen. It's not to my taste, but I really can appreciate the work that must have gone into it.

Wow.., I'm with Keith on this. Not something that would personally look at to buy, but certainly a spectacular job of "specialty"..., and artistic impression.

Fantastic job Chuck! I love the way you used Delbert's large-twist Damascus on the bolsters...

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I honestly can't even comprehend what it took to pull that off...

That is too cool!
I just can't beleive it. I have to strain the brain just to make a linerlock handle something other than square... Is that an auto too:eek: I'm really impressed.

I'd like to thank everyone for the kind words.
Yes it is an auto.

Brett i'll be at table 26-D in the handmade section, please stop by.

Inspiring concept, not sure I like the execution. A little "too figural" for my tastes as well. Just a question though Chuck, did a customer ever talk to you about something like this?;)

Steve,
This was my own idea, never had a customer suggest it. I had been wanting ot do a windowframe with a fish cutout for a while now but this just kinda came together. I was thinking of doing another figural, something creepy.
Thakd for the kind words guys,
Chuck

I gotta say I love figural knives, and this is an awsome example. Everything comes together so nicely I especially like the twist damascus for the body, and the slotted screw for an eye. The file work also looks outstanding.

Brett,

Chuck
