Here is a picture I took of the Planet Mars. It is a very hard Planet to image because it is small and it is cold out when the Planet is at it's best. Also there is a dust storm on the planet.

Actually I am using a Tele Vue 4" Refractor. When viewing or photographing the Planets you want to use a refractor about 4". Anything more and it will be distorted. That's about 240 power. My telescope has an 8.6 focal length. Perfect for the Planets, but not too good for deep sky. I blow up the picture when I process it.
 
Larry, I'm sure you have more pictures than you post here, right? I vote for you to open a thread dedicated to your photography and putting all of your pics in there. I'd love to see more of them, all in one place. I'd even vote for making it a sticky!
 
I know that NASA can do that just fine, I'm just impressed by what a fellow BF member can do, without NASA's nearly unlimited resources and without a few dozen scientists supporting him.

Like a lot of pictures I have uploaded on image gallery they are disappearing for a reason that I don't understand.
