I was pondering earlier on the MBC series. I love the concept, but have forgotten over the course of the last year what is what.

The Gunting, Ayoob, and Temperance Jr. are definite MBC members. Is the Chinook MBC? I know it was in the begining of its developmental stages. How about the Vesuvius or ATR? What is the semi-offical list and what justifies a MBC seal of approval? I couldn't find much when I did a search.

Yes, the Chinook is an MBC knife. I don't know about the ATR but the Vesuvius is not.

To be an MBC knife, it must have a lock rating of at least 200in/lbs per inch of blade length. This means that a knife with a 3" blade must be able to take at least 600 in/lbs of force before failure.
