Well I have long been a fan of Martin Kruse's combat knives. After spending a lot of time trying to make something similar I have finally made one that I am very happy with :) Here is a pic with two of Martin's blades alongside. Mine is fully flat ground from 1/4in 5160. The scales are G10 and the tang has been honeycombed to lighten it up. The black coating is Cera Coat and has held up great. I recently used the knife on a trip to upstate NY and did a LOT of chopping and cutting with it. Didn't intend to do that much cutting with it but Big Bro forgot his ax so it fell to me to feed the campfire for the kids and ladies :) The knife is 11 5/8 overall with a 6 3/8 blade and bites plenty deep for it's size. It fills the bill for what I would want in a combat knife in that it is small enough to carry but big enough to "Git R dun". The clip is unsharpened but thin. To get passed the almost symetrical shape of the handle I added some recessed thumb notches on the top side for orienting the blade in the hand.

Very cool knife. I don't care for black blades, but the shape looks like it would be appropriate for either a fighter or as a camp/utility knife.
