I was fortunate enough to get some help in a neighboring forum here, so I thought I might post at least one unique knife that has come my way. I run a traditional army-navy store and have sold run of the mill production blades for decades, but every once in awhile a unique blade comes into the store.

This is one of three oversized combat survival knives made for an acquaintance by the late Martin Kruse, probably in the early 1980s. At the time the owner was a fit 6' 8" weighing in at 280 lbs. Knife is stamped MK and I was fortunate enough to be able to verify with Mr. Kruse before his death that he did indeed make these knives as he too was not easily able to forget "Big John." This knife was used in the field. Somewhere I have the second and the third was, according to Big John, left "embedded" overseas. Alas, Mr. Kruse confirmed that not all of Big John's stories were poppycock.

By the way, it is a custom Tex Shoemaker sheath to goes along with the knife.

Thanks for sharing the pic. Always was a big fan of those but alas never had the funds to get one when I was younger. I keep my eyes open at the shows....someday we'll meet :)
