About 10 years ago I was driving to Stephenville, Texas to deer hunt. I saw a knife shop on the side of the road called Pullen Knives. Out of curiousity I went in for a look. Mr. Pullen's wife was the only one at the store at that time. A stag handled skinning knife seemed to stare at me through the glass counter. When I inquired about it to Mrs. Pullen, she informed me it was Martin's personal knife and it was not for sale. I asked her if I could view it. When I viewed it, I saw stellite 6K etched on one side of the blade and Pullen on the other. Then, Pullen was stamped on the blade as well. It had a stag handle with what appears to be brass hardware. The leather sheath is stamped Martin Pullen. I made a very handsome offer for the knife, and to my surprise she accepted. A few years later I went to a knife show and carried the knife for possible sharpening, although it still didn't seem to need it. Low and behold, Pullen had a booth there. After speaking with him shortly and being informed it was his personal knife and only for display he made me an offer to buy it back. My collectors instinct kicked in and I held on to the knife.
I came across this knife forum and thought I would post this for possible input into the maker and the knife. Any information would be appreciated.
