Martindale Golok blade coating

I just received a Martindale Golok. The blade seems to be completely coated with polyurethane. My plans of blueing the blade are cancelled.

The whole blade is coated in my experience, edge and all. It comes off fairly easily however if you want to remove it.

Comes off easily with what? Paint thinner, etc.? Thanks.

On the ones that I have used the coating comes off rapidly with use. What remained came off as I was scrubbing off the sap and such mainly with a scotchbrite pad.

While we're on the subject of the Golok, I figured I'd let you all know that Brigade Quartermasters is selling the Golok for $10 less than most places. I wish I had know about this before I placed my order a couple of weeks ago.
