Mary Travers of Peter, Paul and Mary dead at 72

DANBURY, Conn. — Mary Travers, one-third of the hugely popular 1960s folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary, has died.

The band's publicist, Heather Lylis, says Travers died at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut on Wednesday. She was 72 and had battled leukemia for several years.

Travers joined forces with Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey in the early 1960s.

I saw them in concert at the Hollywood Bowl years ago when they were introducing a relatively unknown lead-off act whose name was Gordon Lightfoot. Phenomenal concert. Those memories are blowin' in the wind. RIP
 
Yep, a great loss for the world. I played PP&M music all day at work today in honor of Mary Travers. No one complained!

I only saw them in concert once, when I was a Senior in high school. Awesome! Hmmmm. did my boyfriend ever pay my brother for our tickets?
