marzitelli

cjg1941, yes that's the one. thanks to all for the help. I typed "peter marzitelli" in google n couldn't find it. His spearit, airstream and rave models. Any ideas on the collector value of his works? Do they appreciate? Are they in demand? Why does Peter only work with ATS34?

his work is pretty much impossible to find in shops, if that says anything. my local has 2 of his, both 550ish cdn.

Man that is an ugly website, but he sure does make great looking knives (they probably also work well, but I have never had the opportunity to try one).

I like the shape of his torc 2 and airstream. They look like nice efficient cutters (high hollow? grind). I think Peter's works is quite highly rated (high tolerances) over at USN. Any views here? Anyone handled one? HOw is his heat treat and cutting efficiency?

I have handled many Marzitelli's (thanks to True North Knives)...I was quite impressed! The first thing you notice is the micarta spacer between the liner and the handle scales. Apart from the aesthetic appeal, this makes the knife a bit thicker, which is great for me since I prefer thicker knives. The "groove" opener works very well. If there is one thing that I would change, it's the way he does his liner lock. I can't explain it but I have seen others do it that way and they say it is stronger but...

The Scorpion is probably my favourite but this one is pretty fantastic...those are see through G10 scales with anodized titanium (that shows through) underneath :)

Someday, I must have that. I must. Must.

I wonder why no one else uses the same type of technique with the see through G-10? Too trick.

Peter marzitelli lives exactly one street over from me i think i am going to go talk to him and get a education on knives

bryce, you lucky fella! you gotta email me on what he has and why he isn't jumping on the S30V wagon yet. Anyone have pictures of his airstream. torc 2 and rave models?

all three of the ones you asked about have thumbstuds...IMHO, you would be better off getting something with the Groove opener

His knives really impress me - solid, working knives and piece of art at the same time:
