Hi all,
I'm looking for a review on the mas titanium carabiner. I'm in college now for machining and I really like the look of the carabiners but I cannot find anything to attest to the functionality of them. They would be relatively easy to make but I would just like to know how well they work before I drop a couple hundred on the titanium.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I've no personal experience, but I've heard Mas are pretty small as far as carabiners go. If I had the money readily available, I would've went with a Ti2 parabiner, but I'm out of work until my bicep surgery heals. Having said all that, my wife recently bought me a gear-a-biner. $35, anodized, and sort of a cross between the anzo & the leatherman. I had the leatherman on my keys before the gearabiner, so here's some comparison shots.

I went with bronze ano to match the Hinderer in the obligatory knife shot.

Sweet pics! It looks to be around 2" x3.5" right?
It definitely looks heavy duty, I'm planning to make mine out of .250 grade 5 titanium and EDM them. I would like to make 2 different sizes so I can make one inside the other to not waste as much material. The larger one will be around 1.5" x2.5". I may make a double ended one too, who knows haha

Sweet! When ya get 'em made, don't forget to send me 1 to try out! LOL:thumbup:
edited to add, yeah 1.5"x2.75"

I have the MD C11 carabiner and I really like it on my keys. It slides on and off the belt loop really easily and it's tall profile keeps it from rotating around.

Are you making a real carabiner ? [weight supporting ? ] . I just posted comments about the fact that EDM actually vaporizes the material .The remaining layer has been heated high and form steel that means it must be tempered ! Ti may be the same ,I'd have to check the alloy. Be aware of this when using an EDM !!
