Maserin Knives?

Very good knives. The one I have is titanium lightning strike carbon fiber with n690 steel ball bearings and super smooth action. Don't recommend the lightening strike tho unless it's just for collecting as that will pick your hand alot. Forget the model name, I'll reply later if I remember to get it when I go home.

7redi on your tube also has reviews on some of them. Great materials for decent pricing. I got a huge discount on sale, but not a supporting vendor so can't say where

Their new AM3 flipper looks like a nice little knife. Similar to the Steel Will Cutjack. Might have to give one a try once some more reviews come out.

I have the 392/CN and really like it the knife is using AUS-8 but they seem to have done a fantastic HT as it is holding it's edge very well so far.

Thanks guys.
The 392/CN is just the one I was looking at. I want a thin, light, knife that is easy to sharpen. The AUS 8 should be easy to sharpen.
Of course the AM3 is a cool looking knife and I like M390 steel, but I think I'll go low budget for now.

That 392/CN looks awesome! It's a real slick looking knife. Too bad about that whole tip down thing....:(

That said I have no experience with Maserin knives although I have never heard a bad thing anout them.

If you are looking for a thin light knife that awesome but inexpensive you should look at the Boker Exskelibur framelock. It is a super thin ground blade, just an unbelievable slicer. I am truly impressed with this knife for the price.

I was looking into the Maserin Police model not long ago. Pretty basic construction and "no-frills" blade steel (Boehler N690). But I like the details.

I have a Maserin Police. Flips great on bearings and drops shut (as it should with a large blade). It is a fairly large knife in hand and I did not like the built in glass breaker which made an already heavy knife, heavier. However, I did like it enough to have a custom scale and replacement backspacer made. The egos really suit me. Screws are run too soft though. I may look into replacements down the road. I think it's under-appreciated overall.

"No frills" blade steel....let's get back on a better level here, we aren't describing a dress. We use technical terms like "Hardness, corrosion resistance, toughness, elemental content, carbide properties" to describe steel. There are no frills to steel, only differences in chemistry, heat treat, and geometry. In this case, N690 is a very solid steel.

I can see "no frills" describing that Maserin Police though. Very nice looking knife, really liking that blade shape. Straight (no recurve), but nice curve nearing the tip.

I like the masirin n690 tbo. It doesn't have as long edge retention as s35vn and above but decent all around steel that's far better than the budget steel types.

Thanks for the etiquette lesson, mom ;) LOL

I just meant to say N690 is a perfectly good blade steel, but doesn't have the cachet of M390, M4, S35VN, Elmax, and all of those so-called "super steels." Seems popular in production knives coming out of Italy. I've had a few Extrema Ratio knives in N690 and like it just fine in terms of edge holding and ease of sharpening.

One thing to add about the 3902/CN there is a thumbstud on it that most pictures do not show as mine has it and I have heard reports elsewhere that buyers we surprised and confused by receiving a knife just like the pictures with the only difference being the addition of a thumbstud.
