Norcalblacktail was good enough to send his Waki to Eric at Mashed Cat. I jumped in and ordered one. Here is the result. Very good retention, multiple carry options. Satisfied customer many times over.

Nice sheat and pics. Thank You:thumbup:

Regarding comfort carrying the waki with tek-lok on a trouser belt:
For what lenghts of time would you regard this carry type suitable?

Half an hour at a time?
Several hours including marching?

Reason I ask, because I am on the lookout for a waki sheath myself and trying to decide on the carry type.

I just got my Mashed Cat Waki sheath delivered today.

I hope you don't mind me posting my pictures along with yours.

I am very satisfied with Mashed Cat work. I am looking forward to getting my SYKC Desert Dogfather done by them shortly.

I asked for the optional slots.

Tight fit and finish. I like the drain hole at knife tip.

Some of his buddies came out to see his new pants.

(You know that Red and Black G-10 is badass)

Awesome, thanks for the pics guys. I got a Mashed Cat Waki sheath on the way too (thanks Norcalblacktail!)...hmmm...maybe it's waiting for me at home too.... Good to see actual pics of the sheath!:thumbup:

Thanks especially to you raker13, now I know exactly what my waki and sheath will look like :D .

You guys are able to angle the tek-lok foward right? So the handle cants forward if wearing it on the belt?

I haven't tried moving the Tek lok around yet. I'll report soon. My vision was lashing/strapping to a bag or pack. Far be it from me to toot my own horn, but those Ratmandu's look pretty awesome too! It's been a good month. A very expensive month, but, hey, whatareyougonnado. I couldn't pass on any of these gems. Keepin' the Busse family in bidness.

Yeah, I'd probably be just lashing it to something too, but would like the option of wearing it. Nice lil group you got goin there :D I want a Ratmandu....

The TekLok is able to be possitioned in all angles allowed by the clip itself. The hole patterns in the sheath allow for vertical, horizontal, and diagonal carry options. And if you added the slots to your order you also get the capability of using straps to attach to molle gear.

Saweet

That is by far the best looking WAKI sheath I have seen. I have some of Eric's sheaths and I know the quality is some of the best available.

Grats on a super sweet sheath guys!!!

Mashed Cat - That's great.

Are the Waki Sheaths available in optional colours? (Specifically OD).

I only have about 4-5 black ones left for now until someone else sends in their WAKI. 2 with slots 3 w/o slots. The ones without slots can have up to 5 sets of 1" slots set between the double eyelets (you can see the pictures above for reference).

edit: uh actually nobody has posted one yet w/o the 1.5" slots. Mayby someone will come along soon and do so.

looks like my preorder has gone in, so will be ordering asap :)

Out of interest what do people use the slots for?

I just received my sheath today. I didn't know slots were optional and needed to be specified in the order, so Mashed Cat offered to put some on there for me with a free set thrown in (1" due to the existing rivet spacing). for the great customer service! I think the regular rivets will do me just fine for now though  If I decide I want the slots later, I can cut them in myself or send it back to Mashed Cat.

I would like to put some pics up of this slot-less sheath for others, but my GF took her camera with her on vacation. So the best I can do for now is snap a shot with a camera on my computer.

I don't actually have my Waki yet (should be here within the week!!!), so I can't comment on fit and retention. I have no doubt it'll be great though, I can even see slight indentations from the handle machining. The finish of the sheath is excellent. The rivets are great, the kydex is solid and tight, and the drain hole is the best I've seen yet. A nice wide opening. And the spot for your thumb looks to be well done.

I fiddled with the tek-lok, and you can mount the sheath diagonally  As said above, I probably won't belt-carry it very often, but it's nice to have that option.

So I just wanted to say thanks Mashed Cat for an awesome sheath! My Waki will have some great pants :).

Again, sorry for the crap pic, all I have right now is the comp camera.
