Despite not seeing any ads in the trade magazines nor anything online, I contacted the Mason Dixon knife club in regards to their annual show. It is still on for Friday April 25th and Saturday April 26th at the Best Western Grand Venice hotel in Hagerstown MD. The show will start at noon on Friday and start at 8AM on Saturday. Western MD is a beautiful area, and I always have a good time at Washington Monument State Park, half way between Frederick and Hagerstown. There's also a great knife shop in Frederick, along with my favorite used bookstore, with stores in Hagerstown and Frederick. A member here told me about a small bbq spot on 15 north of Frederick, and another bbq spot near Hagerstown. The show itself is mainly slipjoints and older fixed blades, with a few tacticals sprinkled in. I've gotten some good deals on some older knives. Not the best knife show out there, but not the worst. I was wondering if any of the local BF members wanted to meet up at the show and head to the bbq joint near Hagerstown, or meet up at the knife shop and stop at a bar in town for a bite and a brew.

If you're going to be in the vicinity of the Washington Monument state park, then you'll by driving right by the South Mountain Inn, on top of South mountain right where you turn to go to the park. Great food if a little pricy. But they have a Sunday morning brush that will nock your socks off!:thumbup::thumb up:

I think you need reservations for the brunch, but it's worth it. Upscale place.

Bumping this thread to remind every one that this show is this Friday & Saturday: (April 25 & 26).

Thanks

I wanna get there when they open, which I think is 9. John will have a table there ;).

I am a terrible procrastinator and have been meaning to send an email to you and Chris for a while now. I'm hoping my transmission can pull those hills too, it's been slipping, but it's doing great now. My little brother hooked me up and changed the filter on Saturday. It's gotten used to life as a flat lander.

So, I'm shooting for between 9 and 10, give myself some time to make it there. Figuring on staying there a couple hours to poke around and trade, hopefully. Need to see Courtney Daniels about a few Queen knives repair issues. After that, I'm up for bbq in Hagerstown at your spot Carl. Have to take it easy though if I want to walk to the Washington monument. I guess leave there about noon? Then I'm going to haunt Wonderbooks in Hagerstown first, then the one in Frederick, and then Edgeworks of course. Anybody want to hike Washington monument first, then lunch? It would be easier on my stomach.

I'm not going to have any production items for sale; they just don't sell at this show: I will have quite a few different club knives for sale - mostly slip-joints - all from my private collection.

Look forward to seeing you.
