Is this knife still in production and if not, does anyone know a retailer that still carries them?
I bought a used one from a member of the forum and Im in love with the knife, must get more.

Oh "Roodog" you have very good taste. I hate to tell you though that the Massad Ayoob has been out of production for at least 2 years now that I know of. I have 5 of them myself. I think in about 5 years or so it will become one of their major classics. It has an ergonomic posture to it and I just love to carry my used one occasionally. You have very good taste my friend. :)

I was afraid of that. Why would such a great knife go out of production? Im thinking if it was for lack of interest, then Id be able to find alot of people or retailers looking to unload the ones they have. Unfortunately, the only one I could find was a well worn SE ($55 shipped from a forum member, not bad). Ive had my eye out for another for quite some time, but nothing.
The thin profile and overall large size relative to ease of carry make this one of my favorite folders. Does anyone know if Mr. Ayoob has collaborated with other knife makers? All my attemps to research Mr. Ayoob only yeild endless articles on lethal force and firearms, the Spyderco Massad Ayoob is the only knife reference Ive found.

Mas Ayoob also collaborated with MOD to make his "Razorback" fixed blade. Pretty much take a Spyderco Ayoob and superglue it open.

The Spyderco Massad Ayoob collaboration is incredible. Some day, I, too, may own one. Spyderco has got to stop making so many cool knives as I'll never catch up. :)

i have a MOD razorback and a spydie ayoob, both are ok knives but i see little if any similarity between the 2, the MOD is a fixed blade tanto w/a std grip angle and the ayoob id a spear point folder w/a grip angle kinda like a pistol grip, am i missing something........?

Thanks for all the replies and special thanks to Loki88 for the links. I now have a NIB Ayoob on order thanks to you.

No prob man, that's why we are all here, not trying to be a know-it-all, but just a cummulation of knife related knowledge that always comes out handy once in a while for all of us. Glad i could help. Greetz and enjoy the blade.

We might see u at the Spyderco forum, there are very well educated people there who could help u with almost every problem u have regarding the Spyderco brand.

I'm sure there are still quite a few Ayoobs floating around?

Mine is currently with Ron Cochran, I'm getting carbon fiber inserts since I always found the almite a bit slippery.
