Massdrop EDC Case - modified for max knife room

Since I was heading toward impending bankruptcy as a result of spending mucho dinero on knives and gear, I decided to set two hard limits on myself. The first limit/restriction was to only keep the maximum number of knives that would reasonably fit in a Massdrop EDC case and that each knife in the case would be carried regularly. The second limit/restriction (after I realized the first was going to be really tough) was to put blinders on, metaphorically speaking, and just go with a carefully chosen variety of only Spyderco knives. Then, I did one more tweak and modified the Massdrop case to remove the pen trays and two of the watch trays, installed some kaizen foam here and there, thereby leaving max room for knives (and well....my one watch, a Tutima 670 Pacific).

I think this turned out pretty decent, and I'm just about where I want to be on my final selection of knives. I'll probably replace the Sliverax with something else in a similar size (Caly 3.5 or maybe a Rex 45 PM2, if I can ever find one that's not ridiculously overpriced) and probably replace the Vrango with another small knife (Techno/Techno 2 or Chaparral).....on a shamelessly sales-y note, see my sig line for great pricing on the two non-keepers.

I'm also thinking about doing some custom scales here and there. May Rit dye the Shaman scales, but I'm skeered....

HA!! I guess I could just chisel an approximation of that ugly-a$$ Massdrop logo into the acrylic top of the case.

You need to expand beyond one company. I like Spyderco, but there's a lot of knives w/o holes out there Plus you need at least one switchblade, a pocket fixed blade, a balisong plus a pearl handled slipjoint. If you stick with Spydeco get one with the Emerson wave.
